Vera Jewelry stands behind the craftsmanship of every piece we sell. This warranty lasts for as long as the original purchaser owns the piece. It covers the original purchaser (or the person who received the piece as a gift from the original purchaser) and is not transferable to later owners.

What is covered

We warrant that your jewelry is free from defects in materials and workmanship. If a defect causes your piece to fail during normal wear, we will repair it free of charge. Covered defects include, for example:

• Porosity, pits, or other flaws in the metal from casting
• Stones that are loose because the setting was improperly made
• Solder or assembly flaws that cause a joint, clasp, hinge, spring, or earring post to fail
• Alloy defects, such as abnormal discoloration caused by the metal itself
• A stone that is lost because a defective setting failed

If we determine that a defective piece cannot be repaired, we will, at our discretion, replace it with the same item or a similar item of equal value, or issue a store credit for the original purchase price. Complimentary cleaning and inspection are always free at either of our stores, for as long as you own the piece. We recommend an inspection once a year so we can catch wear before it becomes damage.

What is not covered

This warranty covers how a piece was made, not what happens to it in daily life. It does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear, including thinning shanks, worn or bent prongs and tips, stretched chains and bracelets, surface scratches, and dents
• Accidental damage, impact, misuse, or abuse — including a stone that chips, breaks, or is lost after being knocked, dropped, or caught
• Loss, theft, or unexplained disappearance of the piece or any stone
• Discoloration or damage caused by chemicals, cosmetics, perfume, chlorine pools, hot tubs, or salt water
• Damage caused by repairs, resizing, or alterations performed by anyone other than Vera Jewelry
• Pearl restringing and other maintenance made necessary by wear
• Vintage, antique, and estate pieces
• Watches, including their movements, batteries, and crystals

A note on stones: a stone lost because our setting was defective is covered. A stone lost because prongs wore down or were bent through wear or impact is not a manufacturing defect — but bring the piece in and we will quote the repair for your approval before doing any work.

Conditions

• Proof of purchase from Vera Jewelry is required for warranty service.
• Vera Jewelry will determine whether a failure results from a manufacturing defect or from wear, damage, or another excluded cause, and will quote any non-covered repair for your approval before proceeding.
• This warranty applies to jewelry sold as new by Vera Jewelry. It does not apply to any item whose description states that it is sold without warranty coverage, including all vintage and antique pieces.

How to make a claim

Bring the piece and your proof of purchase to either Vera Jewelry store, or contact us to arrange service. If you ship a piece to us, you are responsible for the cost and safe delivery of shipping it to us; we will return approved warranty repairs to you at no charge. Please insure any shipment — we are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit to us.

This warranty covers repair of your jewelry. It does not cover loss or theft, and it is not a substitute for insurance. We recommend insuring valuable pieces against the risks this warranty does not cover.

Legal terms. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. To the extent permitted by law, Vera Jewelry's liability under this warranty is limited to repair, replacement, or store credit as described above, and we are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so those limitations may not apply to you.
